How the Teacher Rural Residency Program is making a big difference in Valley classrooms.
Vanessa Correa, a student in Fresno Pacific University’s Teacher Residency Program, is fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher while giving back to her Selma community. Paired with a mentor teacher, Vanessa gains hands-on experience at Eric White Elementary, benefiting from financial support to focus on her passion. Programs like this are shaping the next generation of educators!

- This award is bestowed upon outstanding programs and governance practices of school boards in school districts and county offices of education throughout California.They received 205 Golden Bell applications, and the Fresno Rural-TRP was chosen as the winner in the Professional Development and Teacher Recruitment/Retention Category.
- CCBE Apple for Excellence Award Website
- This award is bestowed upon the top 3 County Office of Education programs that are winners of the CSBA’s Golden Bell Awards. The award is presented at the CSBA Golden Bell Awards reception by the CCBE president.
